Latest IFWC Summer Report now available.
We are happy to share with you the latest news from the IFWC and the world’s ongoing drive to reduce food loss and waste.
These are undoubtedly challenging times in which we are living – an extraordinary period in history which emphasises more than ever the urgent need to accelerate our efforts towards a more sustainable food system.
Thus, in this new issue we introduce our Voluntary Agreement, a collaborative initiative to drive food loss and waste (FLW) reduction across Europe’s hospitality and food service (HaFS) sectors. With the support of the French government, and in line with the UN SDG 12.3 goals and EU Farm to Fork strategy, our ambition is to engage at least 50% of the HaFS sector in the EU27.
Also in this edition, we report on new opportunities for positive change in this time of COVID, we highlight initiatives from our partners WRAP and FAO, and we showcase an impressive set of new innovations that have the potential to disrupt food waste.
There is undoubtedly a positive momentum towards FLW reduction. At the IFWC, we will continue to accelerate our efforts as we engage with businesses across the HaFS sectors, working together to build a more sustainable offering for customers.
