The International Food Waste Coalition (IFWC) is a not-for-profit organisation, set up to foster collaboration and coordinate action to reduce food loss and waste across Europe’s hospitality and food service sector.
Driven by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 12.3 target to halve per capita food waste by 2030, we help private and public sector organisations across the value chain to identify, measure and find new solutions to reduce food waste.
For a planet with natural resources under pressure and a global population projected to increase by a third in the next 30 years, where will the extra food come from? Wasting food is no longer an option.

EUROPEAN HaFS FOOD WASTE CONTEXT

Damien Verdier, President of the International Food Waste Coalition
We have a big ambition for the coalition. We truly believe that the collective organisation that we are creating will provide efficient solutions to the food waste challenge and bring back the value of food. A challenge which must not be underestimated, both in terms of the impact on the climate and on natural resources, and the big question of ‘how will we feed the world in 2050?'
